Swaps & Exchanges

If you are an artist, or a quilter or just a lover of great books and music, chances are, there is someone out there who wants to swap stuff with you. There are many web sites set up to facilitate swaps between group members. If it's something creative that you are swapping, there are generally rules about quality of workmanship and materials. Generally, the good old Golden Rule applies here. Only send what you would be happy to receive from someone else.

I have participated in gift swaps, ATC swaps, knitted items, quilt blocks--even socks! I enjoy swapping because I enjoy getting to know other people from far flung places, and it's just plain fun to get stuff in the mail.

If you'd like to swap art with me, here's how it works: just send me an email: letting me know what you make and let me know what you'd like me to make. We agree on the art object to exchange. You send an email when you mail your object and I'll send an email when I mail mine. I'll post pictures here of what I send and receive. OK? Sound good?

I make ATC's, art postcards, mini-books, decorated journals, painted/collaged found items like aol tins, mint tins, CDs, quilt blocks, bags, knit lace bookmarks, hand-carved stamps, bookmarks, and lots of other things.

Beaded Prayers Project Swap

I found this intriguing worldwide community art project that I want to participate in and I'm spreading the word about it. Check out the official web site for the Beaded Prayers Project to get the instructions. I plan to make up a few of these and I thought that others might like to make some as well, but it would be that much more fun to make them and exchange them while also contributing to the global project.

If you want to swap beaded prayer amulets with me, email me and let me know how many you want to swap. For each one we exchange we send one in to the global project. Let's get started and send our prayers all over the world.
